I cannot open a Dataflow Gen 2

Hi,

I have no way to open a dataflow gen 2.
It shows a blank page with the F of Fabric in the middle.
Even the contextual menu when we click on the 3 points next to the dataflow item doen't load.

What is wrong ?

You can’t open the Dataflow Gen2 because of either browser/cache issues, permissions, or a Fabric service outage.

Try:

Open in incognito / clear cache.

Check you have Contributor+ role.

Test in another browser/network.

Check Microsoft Service Health for Fabric issues.

Hi @Damiensize ,
Thanks for the update. Since the issue later resolved on its own, it was likely a transient service problem. Clearing cache or testing in Incognito is still a good first step if you notice this again.

As mentioned earlier by @rohit1991 , if you don’t have a support plan linked to your tenant, you may need to contact your Microsoft 365/Fabric admin to either open the ticket on your behalf or associate a subscription ID.

If the issue reoccurs, please share details like timestamp, Activity ID, workspace URL, and item name with your admin so they can include it in the support request.

Hi @Damiensize

A blank page with the Fabric “F” and the 3-dot menu not loading is almost always a browser blocking issue (privacy setting/extension blocking Fabric scripts or cookies).

Fix (quick test first):

  1. Open the item in Incognito/InPrivate. If it opens there, the blocker is the cause.

  2. In your normal browser disable ad/tracker blockers for fabric.microsoft.com, allow third-party cookies, and clear site data/cache for this site.

  3. If it still won’t open, make sure you have Contributor (or higher) on the workspace and the workspace is on Fabric/Premium capacity.

If none of the above works, capture Help >> About >> Session/Activity ID and raise a support ticket.

I tested in incognito before creating that message.

It has the same behavior.

I cannot find a way to raise a support ticket.

Where can we do that?

I just see something with a side pane that ask for a support subscription ID after a few steps.

Hi @Damiensize

If the pane is asking for a Support subscription ID, it means self-service support isn’t enabled for your account. In this case only your tenant admin can open a ticket with Microsoft.

What to do

  • Ask your Microsoft 365 / Power BI (Fabric) admin to open a ticket:

    • Microsoft 365 Admin Center >> Support >> New service request, or

    • Power Platform Admin Center >> Help + support >> New support request (select Microsoft Fabric / Power BI).

  • Share with them: timestamp, Session/Activity ID (Help >> About), workspace URL/name, and item name (Dataflow Gen2).
