Hi,
Is there a way to restore a deleted report from a workspace?
I’m not looking to recover the entire workspace, but rather to identify and restore a specific deleted report.
There was a similar post around 2020, but I’d like to check again to understand the current situation.
Thank you.

Solved! Go to Solution.
Power BI does not have a built-in way to restore a deleted report directly from a workspace.
If you have the original PBIX file saved locally, on OneDrive, or SharePoint, simply republish it to the workspace. Otherwise, check any backup or version history of the PBIX file outside Power BI to recover the report.
There is no restore feature for individual deleted reports in Power BI workspaces.
Hi,
Thank you for the information.
I understand that, given the current specifications, the method you shared is the only available option.
I look forward to future product updates.
Thank you again.
Hi @koutaro_murofus,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
Unfortunately, as of now, there's still no built-in way in Power BI to restore a specific deleted report from a workspace. When a report is deleted, it doesn't go into a recycle bin or archive, it is permanently removed unless you have a backup copy of the .pbix file.
If the report was published from Power BI Desktop, your best bet would be to check if the original author still has the .pbix file saved locally or in source control. If deployment pipelines were being used, you might be able to retrieve it from the previous stage (like Test or Dev).
It's definitely a limitation, and you're not the only one who’s raised it, many other users have asked for a recycle bin feature or soft-delete option in Power BI. I'd suggest voting on the relevant idea on the Power BI Ideas forum to help bring attention to it. Please go through the below link for ideas forum.
I would also take a moment to thank @BhavinVyas3003, for actively participating in the community forum and for the solutions you’ve been sharing in the community forum. Your contributions make a real difference.
If I misunderstand your needs or you still have problems on it, please feel free to let us know.
Best Regards,
Hammad.
