For the past few months we are increasingly getting errors on dashobards that have connections to Google Analytics.
The error is the following:
GoogleAnalytics failed to get the response: 'The underlying connection was closed: A connection that was expected to be kept alive was closed by the server.'.. The exception was raised by the IDataReader interface. Please review the error message and provider documentation for further information and corrective action.
This happens randomly on our dashboards but everyday we have about 6 dashboards not refreshing.
We reached GA API support and they asked for the "complete JSON request and response logs" but I don't kno how to find this files.
Is this happening generally or do you think it's a problem with our reports?
How can we find the "complete JSON request and response logs" of this failed refreshes?
Thanks in advance!
Hi, were you able to find a solution? I used the GA native connector but had some issues with my data sometimes. As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supemetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the GA connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your GA account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your GA fields:
There just select the fields you need. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.

Hi @Anonymous ,
Check your firewall to see if the Google Drive application signature is being blocked?

Hi @Anonymous
Can you confirm you have got the latest version of the Gateway installed?
Also that the Gateway has a fast internet connection to get the data from the Google API?
Hi @GilbertQ! The gateway is installed in our IT department so I cannot confirm that myself, but I know that is up to date and doesn't seem to have a problem.
Thanks @Anonymous
I would suggest just making sure.
