Hi @Nagitha
Please follow the below steps to debug why error came.
1. Check the Detailed Error Message
Go to Power BI Service → Workspace → Dataset → Refresh History and look at the details of the failed refresh. The exact error message will often point to the root cause (e.g., timeout, invalid credentials, query error).
2. Common Causes & Fixes
a) Invalid credentials
Go to Dataset → Settings → Data source credentials, and re-enter your credentials.
b) Gateway not reachable
If your data source is on-premises, make sure the On-premises Data Gateway is installed, running, and up to date.
c) Query error / schema change
Check if the underlying database/table/column names changed. Open the PBIX in Power BI Desktop and try a manual refresh.
d) Too large data / timeout
Consider optimizing the model (e.g., removing unnecessary columns, reducing rows, aggregating data).
3. Also,Try the below Steps
1. Open the PBIX file locally in Power BI Desktop
2.Republish the file if you’ve recently made fixes or changes.
3. Check Dataset Settings → Gateway connection
