Hi Team, While publishing a report in power bi service getting error Cannot load model but in power bi desktop I can able to open it and refresh it manually. In power bi service I saw gateways are in online as well as connection is online what could be the reason for getting this issue and how to resolve it. For data source credential up to date as admin has granted access credentials are not require.
Hi @ManasRout ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community Forum.
The error refers, the Power BI Service could not initialize or load the semantic model, because something failed inside the service during model processing.
Please try below things to fix the issue.
1. Please try to Re-authenticate the OAuth connection manually.
2. Please disable “Allow report readers to use the model”. If multiple users open the report at the same time, SSAS engine can choke.
3. Please enable “Enhanced Refresh” and incremental refresh. This reduces load on the service side.
4. Please move your workspace to a stable capacity, if you are using shared capacity.
Note: It is a backend issue either OAuth token renewal or SSAS instance.
I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further queries.
Regards,
Dinesh

Hi @v-dineshya , @Natarajan_M , Again I am getting same error for another report while publishing in power bi service. What could be the reason I have checked the credentials are up to date and on premises service and connections are online. Still getting same issue.

Hi , @ManasRout ,
Check the gateway and the connection details under the semantic model settings to ensure all sources are authenticated properly. I also came across the same issue reported by another user; check this if it can help.
