I'm running into a bug where field parameters sometimes result in visuals blanking out when exporting the report to PowerPoint. I've tried this with fairly large sized reports (20+pages) several times. What blanks out seems to change, but something always seems to blank out. Has anyone else run into this and how did you solve it?
Scenario:
I'm supplying my users with a PowerBI report formatted to look like a PowerPoint presentation. They make their selections on a slicer page, and then export the report into PowerPoint, where they can add their own customizations. Some of my users want to display long term data in quarters, while some want to display short term data in months. I'd like to give users the option choose through the use of field parameters. I have about 20 pages in a single report with various bar charts and line graphs. In the service, everything works as expected. After exporting, some bar charts and line graphs using the field parameter will appear blank as if there's no data. This doesn't appear to be a timeout issue with my measures as the pages all load within 1-2 seconds. I've tried this with multiple reports and multiple developers. We consistently lose at least one visual every export, but the visual lost is almost always different.
Ive got similar issue:
Power BI in Power Point presentation doesn't load ... - Microsoft Fabric Community
Hi @ericCheungBI ,
I tested this new feature and exported it as a power point and found that I did not have blank results, the process was as follows:
This is the parameter I created in power bi desktop:
And I apply it to my visual:
Then I publish to service and open this report and export it to power point, I choose the first one” embed an image”
After exporting it , I open the PPT and find the it works:
So, is your process the same?

That's correct. The process is the same. Like I said, I have two reports that are pretty large (20+ pages). I imagine it has something to do with the export process, as cleaning up the page to only have the barchart and a simple revenue over time still sometimes results in a blank visual.
Hi @ericCheungBI ,
Maybe you could consider opening a support ticket to help you look specifically at the root cause of the problem.
