Hi there,
I have a semantic model which when I download and do some changes and then replace the exisiting one, it automatically starts teh On Demand refresh in Power BI server. And that time i dont even get the stop refresh option unlike we get while On Demand refresh is manually triggered.
Can anyone here provide the solution to this?
Like Disable the On Demand automatic refresh if there is any settings to it
OR
If above is not feasible, then how to stop that automatic On Demand refresh.
Hi @manish1806 ,
The semantic model refresh is designed to provide the latest semantic model for the report. When you replace the original semantic model, it is equivalent to importing a new semantic model, so the refresh is automatic and it cannot be changed. This is because Power BI needs to ensure that the data in all reports and dashboards is aligned with the new semantic model.
Best regards,
Mengmeng Li
Hey @manish1806 ,
If this is a new report you can't do anything about it and if the semantic model is not already being scheduled then it will run on-demand as well.
However, if there is already an existing semantic model that is being refreshed on schedule, you can turn that off and then publish the it and the on-demand refresh will not happen. Then, you can re-enable the scheduled refresh.
