Disable Email Notifications when adding +Add User to Power Bi App

Hello:

We have an app that we are going to grant access to a group. I noticed when I go to the app and to +Add User - the user gets a notification email that states the App was shared and to view the app.

We would like to disable that notification since- anyone know if possible?

Since would add a group eventually with >30 users and want to send a separate communication method.

Thank you for any help on this

Hi @jplarios ,

This can typically be done using PowerShell commands if you’re using Microsoft 365 or similar services. Here’s a general approach:

Connect to your Office 365 Admin using PowerShell:
Open PowerShell and run the following command to connect:

Connect-ExchangeOnline -UserPrincipalName <your admin email>

Check the current setting:
Run this command to see if the welcome message is enabled:

Get-UnifiedGroup -Identity "<group name>" | fl WelcomeMessageEnabled

Disable the welcome message:
If it’s set to True, you can disable it by running:

Set-UnifiedGroup -Identity "<group name>" -UnifiedGroupWelcomeMessageEnabled:$false

Connect to Exchange Online PowerShell | Microsoft Learn

Hope it helps!
