Dire Need of Help for Gateway Setup
Hi,
I am NOT a techie. I've been publishing from desktop to Service for as long as I can remember with no problems. All of a sudden, none of my reports are working due to gateway setup issue(s). I have no idea how to approach fixing this problem beyond the basic instructions of setting one up (which I've already done).
Can anyone please point me in the direction to get a"consult" to fix this? Happy to consider paid consults as well.
Thanks!

Click on below and show (screenshot), and also open Data Source Credentials page and verify that all credentials are set correctly?

Ok, what is the datasource - database or something other? Can you open Workspace -> Dataset (that holds report) -> Settings -> Gateway and Cloud Connections and paste a screenshot from there?

you're my hero! It found the culprit. the datasource wasn't mapped and had to select it. Does this mean I have to do the same steps for every NEW report I publish?

If it was not mapped to Gateway, you will need to map it. Better practice is to create connections in PowerBI Service and then map sources to connections. Can you create reports from PowerBI Service directly?

yes I can but I prefer to work with the desktop version as I get more features to work with (unless I've missed any updates on this).

Instead of Power Query - You can use DataFlows.
Modelling (calculated columns and measures) are still in preview but you can also do them in PowerBI Service (your admin needs to enable editing the data model from power bi service).
Any specific feature you are missing?

I've been using the desktop version for almost 2 years now. Back in the day, I recall making a conscious decision to use desktop as the primary report creating tool. Can't remember what was missing that led me to that conclusion. Should I try shifting to Service?

@jeremic_nikola after several trial and errors, I've installed a standard gateway (not the personal one). I've attached the screenshot but not sure if that's what you're looking for.

Hi,
Can you provide more details - is it a personal gateway? Can you screenshot the error you are receiving?
