Datamart issue

Is there a reason why Datamarts don't show up in SSMS for AS db but shows up in DAX studio.

I want to run XMLA query from SSMS on Datamart dbs which I can't do from DAX studio.

Haven't done much with datamarts but will try and recreate the issue.

If you can connect with dax studio but not ssms it sounds like a library issue. Do you have latest ssms installed?

@smpa01 when you say data mart I'm assuming you mean the model that sits on top of the sql instance? Really sorry if this is a silly question but have you selected analysis services in the drop down when you first load ssms. It will default to SQL instant normally.

I can run all sort of dax queries on the same datamart (AS db) in ssms; but they simply don't show up in the list of dbs. That is making my life difficult cause I simply want to run an XMLA query to check something in a db which is not downloadable as incemental factored in. So I want to initate some changes through XMLA
