Can anyone explain me how to setup a datagateway. actually I am connecting to a SQL server for a report when i set shedule refresh it was failing due to i have installed a data gateway on my personal laptop should i install the service on on-perm server ?

Hi @Srinivas3350 

1.It is better that you installed a business gateway instead of personal gateway.You can refer to the following link.

2.After installing the gateway, please make sure that the accout you log in the gateway is the same as the account you log into the Power BI Service.

3.Before you set scheduled refresh, you need to add the data source to the gateway first, then set the refresh, you can refer to the following link.
