I am using Power Automate to perform follow-up actions when a specific value in my report changes.
I frequently encounter issues where dashboard alerts do not appear as expected, and I need help resolving this problem.
The data is numerical and is updated daily through scheduled refreshes.
The alert is configured to trigger when the number is greater than 0.
I understand that alerts will not trigger if the refreshed number is the same as the previous day's number.
To address this, I multiply the number by a different variable each day to ensure the data does not overlap.
ex) 685838438, 1723838458, 44758, 4483832, 6448 ... etc
I have tried setting the maximum alert frequency to once a day and once every hour, but it still does not work.
The odd thing is that while scheduled refreshes do not trigger the alert, manual refreshes always do.
I want to receive alerts when the report is refreshed via scheduled refresh, and the updated data is reflected in the dashboard.
Hi @juan007105 ,
Based on the above information, this issue is complex which may need to collect log files for further troubleshooting. Since community support engineers don't have that access, I would suggest opening a Support Ticket. If you are a Power BI Pro or Fabric licensee, you can create a support ticket for free and a dedicated Microsoft engineer will come to solve the problem for you.
It would be great if you continue to share in this issue to help others with similar problems after you know the root cause or solution.

Hi @juan007105 ,
Please ensure that the data is indeed updating during the scheduled refresh. Sometimes, the data source might not be refreshing correctly, leading to no changes being detected. and make sure the credentials for your data source are up-to-date and correctly configured.
Could you provide more information, such as what your data sources are and what connect mode are you use?
Best regards.

To highlight the issue, the value in the dashboard card updates correctly, but the data alert does not trigger. The strange part is that data alerts do not trigger with updates from scheduled refreshes, but they do work correctly with manual refreshes. (In both cases, the updated values are correctly reflected in the card.)
The alerts haven't been working properly for almost a week, so today I deleted the card and recreated it from scratch. I hope it will function correctly next week.
I recreated the card, but it doesn't work well.
This time it seems a bit different.
The data report updates well, but the dashboard doesn't update.
Shouldn't the dashboard data update automatically when the report updates? It seems like the data alert isn't working because the dashboard data isn't being reflected properly.
The report data points to 7/29 (updated on 7/30), but the dashboard data shows 7/26 (updated on 7/27).
