I am trying to connect the API key to the dashboard but I am receiving this error:

I don't know if its due to the authentication method and I have seen the other post on this where I have tried making it anonymous with the privacy level setting public but I have no luck.

I only used the YouTube API once and I know that authentication was a serious pain. In my case, I got hung up on the YouTube side (I had to be "developer" or something like that in YouTube). BUT, I think that this article is a good starting point (and the subarticles that it points to):
