Cant get rid of old data sources in data source credentials

It seems there is an issue sometimes with data Source credentials not being able to be removed

for Example

CredentialsNotRemoving.JPG

We want to remove all these Web Data Sources but clicking the X doesnt work

Similary, when I use the deployment Pipeline. I move Dev to test, with its test connection and it keeps the Dev one too and wont let me get rid of it in the same way.

this looks like an issue to me in that I think sometimes its ok but then sometimes its not and I cant figure out the pattern

What I meant was: if you delete the datasource in Power BI Desktop, it will disappear from the service.

But with regards to Deployment Pipelines, are dataset rules, in combination with parameters maybe an option to get rid of the unnecessary datasources/credentials?

I think they did all that but this was left behind in service.

I haven't found an option to remove the dev when you get to test Prod as yet so if there is one that would be great. Because currently, when you deploy to a new environment it holds the old data source too and you can't get rid of it

Hi @DebbieE,

I think you'll have to start with the datasource in Desktop. As long as they're present there, they will appear in the service AFAIK.
