Can I add password when publishing to public web?

Hi I am new to powerbi and it seems that publishing to public web is the only way to let external uses view the report without a powerbi pro acc (my aim without powerbi premium). But can I add password to protect confidential content when publishing to public web?

There are a couple of ways to do this. The easiest, but least safe is put the embed code in an iframe and create a portal for logins. While this appears to work, the publish to web link is still technically active and all people have to do to share it is inspect the webpage, find the iframe, and pull the actual URL from the iframe. The webpage is still technically public on the internet, but at least you havethe appearance of privacy.

This one is beyond me and is currently being undertaken by our IT department. It involves using Azure to host the Reports or Dashboards in an app. Apparently, the most recent update to Azure is causing errors with anyone trying to do this now, though older setups are still functioning just fine.

Currently, the link above and publish to web are the only ways to share the reports with people who do not have Power BI Pro licenses according to Microsoft.

Besides Publish to Web, there are other share ways to external users, such as Download the .pbix file, Export to PDF, Export to PowerPoint, Print and so on.

If you choose Publish to web option , then anyone on the Internet can view your published report or visual, and there is no license request for recipients.

So if you need privacy security for the web data, you can choose option Embedding in SharePoint Online or Embed. While to view the embedded report, users need either a Power BI Pro license or the content needs to be in a workspace that's in a Power BI Premium capacity (EM or P SKU).
