I am trying to create a simple bookmark which saves a date range filter.
I have opened the filter pane and created the following advanced filter:
Then I've created a bookmark using the following settings:
However for some reason when viewing the bookmark or setting it as an action to a button the filter isn't being activated and I'm not sure why. The filter is clearly working on it's own, just not with the bookmark. Any ideas where I am going wrong?
Hi @PowerAutomater ,
Based on the testing, when clicking on the bookmark, the filter is activated.
Set the date on the pages.
Add the bookmark.
Select the date on the table visual.
Then, click on the bookmark, the filter is activated.

Hi Wisdom, I have followed the steps in the link you have provided but unfortunately the issue persists, I'm really not sure why.
In regards to the steps you have provided though I am wondering why after the bookmark is created the following steps is necessary:
Shouldn't the bookmark simply work after creating it?
Hi,
That step can be omitted and the bookmark can be used directly after it is created. Your problem still exists, you can try adding a new page, then create advance filters and create bookmarks to capture the filter.

can you give me context on this question. in the sense
1. let's say you changed the date range and you clicked the button but the date range is not correcting as expected??
2. or is it that date range filter is not working at all??
also can you please check what are the filters already applied on the visuals. it can be an error because some other filter is interacting with the visual
So essentially when I view the bookmark (or click the action button) the filter pane/tab opens but the filter I created does not appear at all and is therefore also not applied. I don't have any other filters applied or slicers on the page.
I am considering using a slicer instead but then I believe I would have to use 2 buttons (instead of 1 for a bookmark) to apply and clear the slicer.
Hi @PowerAutomater , The Page level filter precedes the superiority than any slicer /bookmark level filters.
Please check if there are any filters that are overriding the bookmark filter. If you've modified filters after creating the bookmark, the bookmark won't automatically update to reflect those changes.
I actually don't have any other filters in the filters pane nor any other slices on the page, hence why it's quite strange. The other odd thing is that when clicking the bookmark the filter tab does open but the filter is not applied, it's like it is bookmarking only part of what it's supposed to, despite the fact that I have ticked everything as per original screenshot.
