Report Migration Pipeline

Hi Community,
Need to migrate one of my reports and items from one environment (DEV, UAT, Prod) to another using deployment pipelines. The reports are connected through Direct Lake mode. Can anyone help with it?

Hi, @Suresh604

Migrating reports and items from one environment to another using deployment pipelines usually involves a few key steps. Here's a general guide:
1. Backup Your Reports and Data: Before starting the migration, make sure you have a backup of all your reports and datasets.

2. Set Up Deployment Pipelines: - If you're using a tool like Power BI, you need to set up deployment pipelines. This involves creating a pipeline and defining the environments (Dev, UAT, Prod). - In the Power BI service, go to the "Deployment Pipelines" tab and create a new pipeline. - Assign workspaces to each stage (Dev, Test/UAT, Prod).

3. Configure Direct Lake Mode: - Ensure that your datasets in the lake are accessible from all the environments. - You might need to adjust data source settings to point to the correct environment (Dev, UAT, Prod) based on where the data resides.

4. Deploy Reports and Items: - In the deployment pipeline, after setting up the environments, you can start deploying reports and datasets. - Deploy from Dev to UAT, test thoroughly, and then deploy from UAT to Prod. - Use the "Deploy" button in the pipeline stages to move items between environments.
