App Content updates

My team has a workspace and associated workspace app with, in this example, Report A, B, and C included in it. All three of these reports have changes pulished to the workspace since the last time the app was updated. Is there any way to update the app to show the changes made to Report B while ignoring changes made to Reports A and C? My understanding is that there isn't, is this the case?

Hi @slcutah123 I also think Power BI Apps do not allow for selective updates to individual reports within the app.

The workaround in my guess would be like seperate workspaces for reports Or To publish each report sepeartely

Hi @slcutah123,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

Thank you, @Akash_Varuna, for your valuable input regarding the issue.

After reviewing the details you provided, I have identified a alternative workaround that may help resolve the issue. Please follow these steps:

Power BI Apps do not support selective updates for individual reports. However, if you need to update only Report B without affecting Reports A and C, a possible workaround is:

  • Duplicate Report B: In Power BI Service, open Report B and save a copy.
  • Publish the Copy Separately: Publish this copied report as a standalone report outside the workspace app.
  • Share with Users: Provide direct access to this standalone report for relevant users while waiting for the next full app update.

This approach allows users to access the latest version of Report B without impacting the rest of the app. Once you are ready for a full app update, you can remove the standalone version if necessary.

Best Regards.
