Hi everyone,
Hoping you can help here. I'm trying to get a connection through to SAP BW from PowerBI using the in-built conector. I've succesfully managed to do this previously, using an older version of PowerBI (September if I remember corerctly). The problem now however is that I keep getting an error message saying "Connection String is not Valid", despite all of the credentials being correct (I know this for a fact as I can still log into it fine using an older PBI version).
Something has clearly changed in the latest Desktop update which is preventing me from accessing BW - any advice would be greatly apprecaited?
Regards.
Hello JuandreR,
Can you share a link to the SAP NetWeaver RFC SDK. I am having similar issue. Only that Power BI wont let me pass the initial screen saying i need to install these above files.
Hi JuandreR,
Is there anyway to know which version of Netweaver you need? Or is it safe to think you need the latest Netweaver (7.5) if you have the latest update of PowerBI (march 2017) installed?
Thanks for any reply.
Id appraciate any help on this too. I had the same issue, I downloaded all the *.dll and still no luck. I'm advised by colegues that after navigating "Get Data > Sap Business Warehouse Server" they see a prompt to configure IP address etc. I never see this and despite searching the app I have not found a place to enter this. Any clues?
Hi @rjm900,
Did you get issue when connecting to SAP BW use Power BI desktop version 2.42.4611.901? Did this new desktop version reside on the same computer host old desktop version? Did the new version desktop and old one are the same bit, for example, both are 64 bit? Please make sure the Server, System Number and Client ID used to establish the connection are the same in those two desktop versions.
Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
