Hi
I have set up the enterprise gateway & configured it with 2 sql data sources, on on premise and the other in Azure. When I Get data (PowerBI Desktop) is the system intelegent enough to pick up that the server & database settings entered will be handled through the gateway or is there a different method for defining db connections already defined in the gateway.
Also when selecting Get Data, SQL server you can enter a sql query. However when selecting a sql db from recent sources there does not seem to be a way to enter a query, just select tables form the list . Is there?
Thx in advance
Tony
@TonyR As long as your data source names match the names managed by the gateway it should be detected. Also the enterprise gateway only supports direct connections so you cannot enter a query, You con however create a view on the source db.
