Hi,
My situation is this; I have a POC server that has two tabular models on it and I want to replace the SSAS connector with the enterprise gateway so that I can connect to tabular models and on prem SQL servers. The goal here being to enable schedualed refresh without the dependancy on some local macheine being on. What I dont know is how the current reports from the two tabular models will be affected by the change.
One of the models has a report built in P.BI descktop and published to the web service. I assume that if the SSAS connector to that model is replaced with the enterprise gateway then the report will need to be republished and it should auto reconnect using the enterprise gateway.
My question here is, would the pbix file have to sit on the server in order for the published dashboard to use the enterprise connector?
The second model connects to a report done in power view in a sharepoint site, using a semantic model connection. How would this be affected by installing the enterprise gateway on the server?
Many Thanks,
Gerry
