If we create a power bi report from any database (ex - SQL Server) and publish the report into service, we can refresh the data only from the service through manual or scheduled refresh. If there is any metadata change in source like addition of new column, data type change of existing column, deletion of existing column etc., we need download the PBIX, refresh it in power bi desktop and republish to have those changes reflected in the dataset.
Some time there can be restriction on downloading PBIX or there can be too many files which is not feasible to update manually from desktop. Can we have some feature available in service so that we can refresh metadata too?
