Automatic refresh of dashboards

Need to be able to update dashboards with live data from Excel and other sources. This is already solved for PowerBI sites through automatic refresh using the DMG - the updated Excel file gets written to the PowerBi site, but this technique cannot be used here as there is no connection to Office 365. Either create a connection or create an equivalent mechanism for updating data (OneDrive alone is not enough).

Whenever I change the filter in the page/report level, the charts in the report changes but the pinned chart in the dashboard remains the same. The recommended links about auto refresh is unrelated to this symptom.

I am having the same issue as a number of users in this forum. Updating a filter on my reports keeps the pinned dashboard results static and does not reflect the report. Example being I want to update the status on issues on a daily basis. In the designer view / online report section, I can change the filter manually to the current day.. Does this mean I have to "re pin" these to the main dashboard deleting yesterdays "pins"?

Scheduled updates of my datasets are not causing the reports to update automatically. Is anyone else having this behavior?

I am using power bi embedded and publishing a report to a website and using page refresh every 5 minutes to make sure the report values are up to date. Yet when the page refresh, the whole power bi active x seems to be refreshing causing to loose which report page you were viewing before the refresh and you get directed to the report default page. Anybody have a better solution to keep report data live.

In order to have dashboard update automatically, the entire report must be pinned to the dashboard. If only a portion of a report is pinned to the dashboard, it will be static.

Really is this fixed? As I still cannot refresh my dashboard tiles automatically as soon as my dataset get refresh on schedule. Data source is text file that is access through On-Premises Data Gateway.

"In order to have dashboard update automatically, the entire report must be pinned to the dashboard. If only a portion of a report is pinned to the dashboard, it will be static." So the work flow should be: 1. Make report specifically for a dashboard tile eg just one chart, or KPI 2. Pin that entire report to the dashboard. Then the dashboard tile will dynamically reflect data changes automatically. However, I have portion of reports pinned to my dashboards, and while they are 'static' in terms of automatic refresh, after I update data source, I can refresh entire browser page to update 'static' pinned dashboard tile. So automatic / dynamic refresh vs manual browser page refresh to get dashboard tiles to reflect data source changes. Is this correct? Any other methods or features that can be used here to get dashboard tiles to reflect data source changes?
