I have a report that is set to refresh during the night. It will refresh but it will not display the information. It leaves everything blank not sure what is wrong. it was working fine for a few months now it doesnt update with new information.
any help is greatly appriciated
Thank you
@jbenson Have you verified the filters being applied to your visual and tried clicking the "Rest to Default" button in Power BI Service to ensure that there are no filters inadvertently being applied to your report that might no longer be valid?
I find that often Power BI tries to be "helpful" by caching my most recent slicer/filter settings, but sometimes that causes unexpected results.
I have tried that, but there are also no slicers for that matrix just locations and totals is all
Hi @jbenson
I would recommend to open the report in the desktop, refresh it, if all the data is there and refreshed then publish it again and replace the old one.

@jbenson and no filters applied either? So when you hover over the filter button it says "there aren't any filters applied right now"?
What happens when you try to connect to the published dataset from a new report? Are you able to access the data then? Or how about when accessing via Analyze in Excel?
That is correct there are not filters. If I refresh from the desktop side and then publish it again to the web it migh work for a day or two then stop working again
Hi @jbenson,
What type of data source are you worked on? Can you please share more detailed information about these?
How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly
If this report can be updated correctly on the desktop side, it means this issue may be related to your gateway and refresh operations. You can trace the refresh history and correspond activity id to get detailed error messages.

I don't get any errors on the web side when the refresh happens over night. I get the data from a web link that comes from our ERP software. I am not sure what settings I should change on the gateway settings. Is there a way to extend the refresh time so it has more time to load the data?
Hi @jbenson,
Any trace log features that existed on your database side? If that is the case, you can use these to trace the power bi request sessions and detailed operations.
The issue may be caused by some conflict about power bi request with your database operations, power bi service queried the blank result and does replace with raw dataset records so it shows blank on your report.
You can also change the refresh settings to skip the heavy workload time(database transaction, events, schedule plan) to reduce the conflict rate between power bi and data source.

Xiaoxin Sheng
