After Integration with Service now can export all the data from service now to excel, csv or txt  or some other format of  file or something. can we schedule export excel sheet to email? Is there any best approach to integrate with service now like API or adapter

Hello,

The best way to connect Servicenow and Power BI would be to install our app on your Servicenow instance and schedule automated refreshes in Power BI.

Power BI Connector for ServiceNow app:

We have a handy User and Admin Guides for your convenience, but feel free to reach out support team at support@alpha-serve.com if you need any assistance.

Cheers,

Anton

Hi @Anonymous

There are many ways you can access the data in Power Bi Service ( please see the bullet points below ), however, I don't think there is a way of scheduling data exports as  Power Bi was designed for use in a cloud.

If you need to prompt users to check their reports, you can set up dashboards and alerts on certain events that will send emails

Hello Expert,

I got your point and its good

Access your data model ( dataset ) from Excel, go to Service > Datasets > More Options > Analyze in Exel. to through Email

would it it be auto refresh that means there are 1500 more records added before 5 or 10 mins . Can we do this with CSV files as it takes more records than ever

Regards

Shree

Hi @Anonymous

It depends on your dataset.

  • pro users can set up to 8 schedules a day every 30 min.
  • the premium can set up to 48 schedules a day every 30 min.
  • the direct query is live.

the only way you can use it in excel is through pivot tables.

power bi was not intended for data exports.

Mariusz
