Power Bi Data refresh error - Timeout Error

navas009_0-1605199255585.png

The automatic refresh for my report is failing and gives the error "Microsoft SQL: Execution Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.". The query is running successfully on MSSMS and there are around 3 million records. Urgent help needed.

Hi, @navas009

It’s my pleasure to answer for you.

According to your description,I have the follow question.

Which data source you connected to?What's your connection mode?Whether it can be refreshed normally in the desktop or whether it can be refreshed normally by using ‘refresh now’ in the service.

Have you tried like this:

If it doesn’t solve your problem, please feel free to ask me.

Best Regards

@navas009 ,

Are you transforming something using Power Query ? Or even using duplicate/referencing any query ?

Yes, we are duplicating the records and pivoting the columns

@navas009 ,

You can try increasing the timeout option:

I have already done that but it keeps on loading and nothing happens
