In case you're wondering, the approach I took that did the trick was as follows:
SOLUTION = IF (CALCULATE (HASONEVALUE(SOLUTION[COLUMNB]),ALLEXCEPT(SOLUTION,SOLUTION[COLUMNA]) )=TRUE,SOLUTION[COLUMND],"Multiple")
