I've discovered a bug with the PowerBI add-in in PowerPoint and need assistance: The reports I've embedded into my slides show blank when in presentation mode. When presented using PowerPoint Live they show as static images and the data within is not interactive. Furthermore, the slides are stuck loading when attempting to present via PowerPoint Web. Does Microsoft have an update coming that will allow this add-in to function correctly? Or does anyone have any insights in how to repair this broken feature? Thanks.
Tried today 2025-02-05 and it has not been resolved.
Truly sad!
I have this same issue when running the /S option to start in presentation mode.
I tried turning off hardware acceleration but that didn't work.
Use case for us is to put reports on individual slides that cycle through (and auto-update) in kiosk mode for our users.
What I ended up doing so this would work is two tasks that run on login.
Task 1 launches the pptx file in editing mode.
Task 2 waits 30 seconds past user logon and then uses the /S switch to launch the same file in presentation mode.
It appears that the power bi plugin needs a few seconds to initialize and/or connect before it actually works. By starting it the way I did and then launching it again it would appear it is already initialized/connected and therefore the delay works.
It's a pain though. It would be nice if it just worked so definitely still a bug/not working.
Has not been resolved with the PBI may update. O365 is
Microsoft® PowerPoint® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2404 Build 16.0.17531.20152) 64-bit. @Anonymous
Had the same issue, blank visual in Slide show mode. Solved it in PowerPoint. Go to Set up Slide show. Then unselect Disable hardware graphics acceleration. Hopefully this will work for you too.
@SandraJay you are a true hero! Finally! It is resolved and I can now show PBI data in my slides.
@Anonymous still a kind request to see how this can be resolved, as I still think it is strange..
Still confirming that the PBI visuals remains a white screen when in presenting mode. So definitely not resolved.
Why is this marked as solved? It absolutely is not solved which makes the entire process of embedding in Power Point totally worthless
Still not resolved 😞
i have same issue here, has it been resolved
Also, the same issue is present with the Cameo block inserted into PowerPoint. My guess is that presentation mode breaks all the new features MS is trying to add (and evidently is not testing before release 🙄).
I still have this issue, has it been resolved? I know there is 'something' as anything behind the powerbi visual is not visible in the presentation mode.
Latest O365 powerpoint installed and powerbi visual addin.
Is there a solution to this. I get a blank area when I use presentation mode in PowerPoint

Still getting this issue
Hello, I don't see the solution in here. I consider it is not solved. I searched in the internet and could not find a solution.
Can you publish the solution please?
I agree with you, the same issue.
With the december update of PowerBI it has not been resolved. Do I need to update O365, if so, to what version.
I still have the issue that I can't show the live data in presentation mode, which forces me to convert it to a static picture...
Please raise the issue again.
Thanks so much for your reply @Anonymous . I appreciate the confirmation of the issue and look forward to it's resolution.
btw, this has not been resolved!
