Had the same issue, blank visual in Slide show mode. Solved it in PowerPoint. Go to Set up Slide show. Then unselect Disable hardware graphics acceleration. Hopefully this will work for you too.
SandraJay you are a true hero! Finally! It is resolved and I can now show PBI data in my slides.
Anonymous still a kind request to see how this can be resolved, as I still think it is strange..
