Hi,
I have just been asked an interesting question. We have a team who directly connects to Excel in a Sharepoint folder and they log in using their own Email address and Password.
Obviously when they change the password, the connection fails and they have to reenter their new password into Data Source Credentials.
And if someone takes over, they have to enter their own details to make it work (So they have to have permissions on the Sharepoint folder)
The business logic is that passwords are changed every 40 days.
What would other people do in this situation. Possibly have another generic Email and password that eveyone has to log into the Sharepoint folder with.
Or if the Personal account is OK, how do you deal with the password changes?

Hi @DebbieE
What I have done is to create a service account, where the password never changes. Only very specific people have access to this accounts username and password.
This same account is then also added to the Sharepoint folder with the same permissions.
Then once this is setup in the Gateway it is setup once and does not have to be updated.

Thats great, Just a quick question. You mentioned to set it up in the Gateway but I didnt think you needed to add Sharepoint to a data gateway?
