Hi all,
Folllowing the steps outlined in this documentation (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-edit-sap-variables), I am not able to see the option of "Edit variables" after publishing to Power BI service.
It has been double checked that the DirectQuery is being used, and the option to allow end users to change SAP variable has been enabled. Do anyone of you got yours working successfully?
Thanks!
Hi,
Did it work for you?
I am also facing the same issue.
Thanks!!
Jyoti
HI @Anonymous ,
I'd like to suggest you check the requirements list to confirm if your scenario does not meet the prerequisite:
Edit SAP variables in the Power BI service#requirements-for-sap-edit-variables

Hi there,
Thanks for the feedback.
We checked through every single pre-requisite as possible, and below are our checks:
1) Premium workspace - yes
2) New filter experience - yes
3) Direct Query? - yes
4) SSO? - yes, we are logging in with out organization login automatically
5) New gateway? - yes (our source is SAP BW, we configured and added the gateway successfully with the sap connector installed)
6) Multidimensional? - yes, since our source is SAP BW cubes
7) We are not using Soverign clouds
It does look to me we have everything already in place. But yet we are not getting the output that we are looking for.
Any advice what else could be missing?
Thanks in advance.
Hi @Anonymous ,
Have you tested in 'share with me' tab? As the document mentioned, current it seems not work on 'share with me' tab.
Note that this feature does NOT work for reports in the Shared with me tab of My Workspace.
If your scenario meets all requirements but this feature still not work, I'd like to suggest you submit a support ticket to ask power bi team if it is related to backend reasons.
