Use HDP Hive LLAP from Power BI using Direct Query

Is there a way to use HDP (version 3.1.0) Hive LLAP from Spark Connector?

I already got access using: 1) Hive ODBC Driver with ODBC connector; 2) Hive Thrift Server with Spark connector. But both do not support Direct Query.

I know it's possible to use HDInsight Interactive Query connector, but in my case I want to access my own HDP cluster using Direct Query with Spark connector or other connector if possible.

Dear @v-xicai  , thanks for the response.

The link in the last post mentions a case of HDP access using Spark with Direct Query. This already worked.

What I need is to know how to access HDP with Direct Query using LLAP, either with Spark or otherwise.

Hive LLAP makes queries much faster than accessing the traditional way.

Hi @josehcr ,

You may refer to the article Data Science in Power BI: HDInsight Hive.
