Solved

Unable to replace report in service with same name

I have report in a workspace and these are the steps I take: 1. Download report 2. Change datasource (PowerBI dataset) 3. publish report 4. power bi does not offer me to replace the previous repo...

    I ended up changing the datasource using tabular editor 🙂

Its not solved. Still unable to update the report even though I have same user logged in on PBI Desktop and service and the file name is exactly the same. Must be a bug because I end up with 2 reports with the same name in the workspace. 
The report is based on power bi dataset and the only thing I do is change the underlying dataset on the report and publish again...

I´m able to replicate this bug by creating 2 datasets in workspace a:


I then open power bi desktop and create new report. Select datahub > Power BI dataset and select dataset1 for the report> publish the report to my workspace > download the pbix file > open the report > select transform data > datasource settings> change datasource to dataset2 > save the report and publish to my workspace end this is the end resault:
