Hi All,
We have a dahsboard that points to an excel file on a network drive. It is scheduled to refresh. It has 2020 data. This is our main dashboard. Now for 2021 it will be pointing to the same excel file , but the file will be populated as the year starts. So far so good.
We want to maintain the 2020 data in a different dashboard (DUPLICATE of our main dashboard), this will point to a different excel file that has old data (2020) under the same folder , but a different file name.
1) I made a copy of the main dash board and renamed it, but how do i change the source ? please advice.
Thanks

Hi @Anonymous ,
After saving the original pbix as a copy, try changing the data source in the data source settings.
Finally, publish it to service.

Liang

you need to (swiftly) make a copy of the excel file on the network drive, before it gets overwritten.
In Power BI you can combine multiple Excel sources into a single data table. You would want to include the file name as a column so you know which year the data is from.
