Test Powerapps without gateway

Hi,

Does anyone know if you need a working gateway to test Powerapps within a Power BI report?

I am still waiting for our IT department to set up the gateway and I don't want to start my Powerapps trial yet if it requires a working gateway.

Hi Frank,

My question is more about running PowerApps without a gateway like you can query on a database with Power BI desktop without using a gateway.

My guess is that you need a gateway for PowerApps to work since there is no 'desktop' equivalent for PowerApps.

Hi @Blaenzo ,

You can access the datasource like sharepoint online that the gateway is not required to have a try.
