Subreport in paginated report fails, but only when reports are generated by a Logic App

We're using a Logic App to generate many paginated reports using parameter values that are stored as JSON arrays in an Excel table (one array per report).

The paginated report includes a subreport, and they are both in the same premium workspace. When viewing the reports via the workspace, the subreport works properly.

However, when the reports are generated via the logic app, the subreport fails, despite using the same parameter values. Within the resulting PDF report where the subreport should appear, I instead get "Error: Subreport could not be shown.".

  • No error is thrown by the logic app itself.
  • The rest of the paginated report works fine via the logic app; the parameter values are correctly defining what should be shown for everything that isn't in the subreport.
  • Every parameter used in the subreport is also used in the rest of the report.
  • I verified that the logic app really is referring to the correct .RDL in the correct workspace.

Any ideas what might be going wrong here?

This had to do with the subreport using the wrong data source, and was not a Logic App problem.
