Shared PowerBI Report to Security Group, Embed in SharePoint, Users cant see it

If I share the report DIRECTLY with users, and embed it in the SharePoint site they can see it

If I share the report with a mail-enabled security group, and embed it in the SharePoint site, they cannot see it

Is this a bug?  Is it a limitation?  I dont understand why it doesnt work.

Hello, 

I am facing similar problem. In my case I have a report that I want to share with email enabled security group. I share with the group but the users that are in that group never get an email with the link for the report, neither they get it in power bi as shared with me file. 

I have tried to share it with just a security group and it works, as well as distribution list which also worked. 

Is it possible the report to be shared with a email enabled security group and if yes, how.

Do you embed Power BI Report in SharePoint Online? I am trying to test the scenario as yours, but unable to reproduce your issue. When I share report to security group, the members in the security group can see the embedded report in SharePoint Online.

Does your Power BI report exist in "My workspace" or App workspace? And do you use share dashboard or share report feature in Power BI Service?
