Semantic model as Datasource and pipelines

I know about rebinding reports when moved through dev acc and prod pipelines.

I have 3 Semantic models

1 and 2 are source semantic models that base that serves model 3...  how to be sure that when mover to higher environments acc and prod that SM3 binds correctly through these envirnments to the correct SM datasource.

Will SM3 bind automaticly?

Thanks.

Hi @trin ,

As mentioned @Thomaslleblanc , when a semantic model like SM3 is deployed via a pipeline, it stays linked to the original semantic models (SM1 and SM2) from the source workspace unless you specifically update it. Power BI does not automatically update these semantic model references when moving between environments.

To make sure SM3 is linked to the right semantic models in Test or Prod, you will need to manually rebind it.

Thanks for your quick response @Thomaslleblanc .

Yugandhar.

No, it would be binded to the original semantic model in the workspace source of the pipeline
