Scheduled update error with ACCESS database data source in One Drive

Hi, I have developed a report that I have uploaded to power bi service taking as data source (import mode) an access database that is hosted in one drive. However, in power bi service it does not allow me to schedule an update or edit the credentials. Is it possible to do this?

Hi. Yes that's ok. Access database is very old and its files are not supported for cloud refresh. It doesn't matter if they are at onedrive, you need a gateway in order to refresh them. Why? because PowerBi needs the access driver in order to understand them. Another example, the same would happen with xls files at onedrive. Old formats need a driver. Those file types need a gateway to help PowerBi Service to understand them.

If migrating from access to another db or files is not an option, then you should read about OnPremise data gateway. You can read more about the issue at this community like: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Service/On-Premise-Data-Gateway-and-Access-Databases/m-p/2...

You can get the driver here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=54920

I hope that helps,
