Scheduled Refresh During SSAS Refresh

Hi guys,

I have a SSAS tabular. Some of the partitions are refreshed on an hourly basis. The SSAS is used as a datasource for a Power BI report, refreshed throught the EGW 8 times per day.

There is a huge problem when the scheduled refresh runs simultaneoulsy with the refresh of the cube. When this happens, the refresh is reported as a successful one, however data in the Power BI report are not consistent , datasets contain partial information and the report is absolutely wrong and misleading.

I have tried to configure the schedules in a way to avoid such conflicts - for instance the cube refresh to be executed at 11:00 & 12:00 (the refresh takes 2-3 minutes) and the power bi refresh to run at 11:30 and 12:30. However the PowerBU refresh time schedule is not strict - the service runs the refresh procedures with some delays. And due to these delays the PowerBI refresh does not run at 11:30 as planned, but at 12:01 when the cube is being processed. The result is - incorrect figures in the report...

Has any one met such an issue and did you manage to resolve it?

Thanks

Tsanka

We are having the same issues, the powerbi at times displaying incorrect/incomplete data after a succesful refresh. We have SSAS cubes as same data source
