Save hard-copy of Power BI report with direct query model

Hi, is it possible to save a hard copy of a report in PBI Service which has a direct query semantic model? We need to save these daily and disable the automatic updates if possible.

Sadly, yes.  Connect to the semantic model via SSAS connector and choose "Import"  rather than "Live".

I assume you are aware that this is a bit of a travesty. Hopefully you have good reasons for needing these hardcopies.

Connect to "Analysis Services" data source and then choose "Import"  and specify your DAX query.

Hi @dkdirenzo ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community Forum about the issue you're encountering.

Yes, it is possible to save a hard copy of a report in power BI service with direct query. To get it, as @lbendlin mentioned, you may need to connect to the semantic model via the SSAS connector and choose the "Import" mode. By importing the data, create a static version of the report, which will not update automatically and allows you to save a hard copy of the report.

If this post helps, please give us Kudos and consider Accept it as a solution to help the other members find it more quickly.

Pallavi.

Hi, I'm not familiar with an SSAS connector. Can you provide more info on this?
