Hello,
I have a report on power BI service that is used by multiple clients, and they are only allowed to view their data. To manage data access, I defined roles in Desktop and applied RLS in Service so the data filters down for each client.
However, the plan is to make the report a self-sevice where clients can connect the report to their data in Service and only see their data. So I would like to avoid the manual process of defining roles in Desktop. Is there a way for me to define and assign roles entirely in Service? Or is there a workaround for automating RLS?
Thanks.
Hi @Eniola_O
You can define RLS only on the datasets created with Power BI Desktop, so if you want to define the role , you need to implement it on the desktop, you can refer to the following link.
Best Regards!
