Refreshing dataset - problem

Hi All!

I recently have a problem refreshing data in Power BI Service.

The situation is as follows:

  • Data are downloaded from AAS as imports (there are about 7M of them).
  • Incremental refresh is set on the fact table.

When I refresh data in PBI Service, I get an error every time:

The credentials provided cannot be used for the AnalysisServices source. (Source at ### ). The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface.

In dataset settings in PBI Service, credencials are properly entered (OAuth2).

Does anyone have any idea why I get this error?

Thank you in advance!

Hi @lkalawski ,

What is the last time you can refresh this dataset successfully? Are there any change about permission of this credential in the AAS side? Could you please try to verify if you can access the AAS datas ource with the same credencial in Power BI Desktop?

Best regards,

Hi Dong_Li!

Unfortunately, the data could not be refreshed successfully. I am currently testing the method described by a colleague above.

The local file refreshes correctly, however, it has a smaller date range. However, it seems to me that for this purpose an incremental refresh was created to operate locally on a smaller range, and on the service on a larger range.

I will let you know if the above method will work.

Lukasz

Hi,

I met already a situation quite similar with permissions on a SharePoint source.

I solved it by using Desktop, going to Datasouce setttings,

deleting all autorisations (button clear permissions),

and recreating them (button Edit persmissions).

Hope it helps
