Realtime connection to MySQL

Hello Everyone,

we are very new to cloud computing and started implementing this Power BI in organization .

I have my data residing in MYSQL of Amazon RDS and i was able to connect to it . My requirement is i want this connection to be Real time / Live connection. But unfortunately MySQL connection in Power BI is supporting only import.

got to know that this may be possible using streaming dataset using API, but i have no idea on the steps and infrastructure required .

Request you all to please help me with the solution to achieve this .

TIA

Hi @Anonymous ,

According to the official document, when connect to MySQL database, the only available connection mode is Import, which means that Power BI will cache the data that you’re connected to creating a point in time snapshot of your data.

If you want to use Real-time streaming in Power BI, please refer to the document to see if it helps you.

Real-time streaming in Power BI

There are three types of real-time datasets, which are designed for display on real-time dashboards:

  • Push dataset
  • Streaming dataset
  • PubNub streaming dataset

If I have misunderstood your meaning, please provide more details.
