Hi,
i could read on different posts that you announced changes of the general web publishing.
If i read it right, an admin role has to be assigned to be able to pubslih embedded links for reports in the future.
I'm using the free version so i dont have the adminhandling in the dekstop or webapp.
On a different spot one of your members describes the handling of that issue as a free user in the
comment section.
He could help that other free user but when i try to reach the given links to the adminsection of office 365
i get a message about not beeing authorized.
I cant move on and i really need to publish and embedd reports so every fast help is well appreciated.
Cheers,
Tom
Solved! Go to Solution.
If you are a user or have an Office 365 home plan, you do not have an admin center.
If you purchased an Office 365 business plan AND you have admin permissions, you have access to the admin center.

Hi @Torell ,
to whom should the report be shared?
If you like to share your Report/Dashboard with your collegues than try the Power BI App - https://docs.microsoft.com/de-de/power-bi/service-create-distribute-apps

Hi Kathrin,
the usual way i go is to upload the project from my local app. Later i publish via the embedded link function via the webapp of Powerbi. This link i host in an iframe to my page. This worked fine over the last few years but when publishing, the webapp says
i have to contact an administrator due to missing rights. I cant change those rights inside the webapp because i am no premiumuser.
According to another forumpost beeing a free user doesnt exclude me from publishing.
Cheers,
T.
HI @Torell ,
ok so you need the "publish to web" fuction. Hopefully there is no sensitive data in your report 😉 because there is no security in publish to web reports.
So you need to be in a group which will be defined by your Admin :).

Kathrin

Hi Kathrin,
no these reports are meant to be published officially!;)
I cant find these settings you show. Are these available for free user?
There is no other admin than me. I created that account.
Cheers,
T.
Hi @Torell ,
no these settings are only available for your Power BI Admin - you need also a Admin to create the group for these topic :).

Kathrin

Hi Kathrin,
so now you see the problem i'm facing. how do i do that as a free user?
Hi @Torell ,
I think you as a free user without any permission to do such things it would be might be impossible. So my advice for you find someone who has the abillity to do this :).

Kathrin

@Torell
It is nothing to do with Pro or Free license. After the updates, publish to web is turned off(default).
You need to contact your Power BI admin to enable that function for you in Admin Portal=>Tenant Settint.

Hello Paul,
but WHO is THAT PowerBi Admin? Im the only one in charge of all the accounts. i got a free office 365 account and cant find any way to control admin rights there neither. The documentation you linked describes admin role management with a 365 subscription which i simply dont have!.
