@abilash The status code 400 suggests a bad request, which could be due to various reasons such as invalid parameters or issues with the service itself.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

Check Dataset Settings: Ensure that the dataset settings, including the data source credentials and gateway configurations, are correct and have not been altered.

Verify Gateway Status: Even though you mentioned not changing any gateway settings, it's a good idea to verify that the gateway is online and functioning correctly. You can do this by going to the "Manage Gateways" section in the Power BI service.

Review Dataset Permissions: Make sure that the dataset has the necessary permissions to access the data sources. Sometimes, permission issues can cause refresh schedule errors.

Check for Service Outages: Occasionally, Power BI services may experience outages or disruptions. Check the Power BI service status page to see if there are any ongoing issues.

Clear Browser Cache: Sometimes, browser cache issues can cause unexpected errors. Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser to see if the issue persists.

Hi @abilash ,
This error usually occurs when there's a mismatch or issue with the data source credentials or configuration during the attempt to save or trigger a scheduled refresh. Even if you haven’t made changes to the gateway settings, it’s possible that the credentials used for one of the data sources have expired, permissions have changed, or a recent Power BI Service update caused a conflict.

The Status code 400 suggests a bad request—often related to missing or invalid information in the configuration. To resolve this, go to the dataset settings in Power BI Service, revalidate the data source credentials, ensure the gateway is online and properly mapped, and then try saving the refresh schedule again. If the issue persists, it’s a good idea to copy the Activity ID, Request ID, and Correlation ID shown in the error and raise a support ticket with Microsoft for deeper analysis.

Hi @abilash ,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community.

Thank you @bhanu_gautam and @rohit1991  for the prompt response.

Here are few additions steps which you can check:

  • Re-enter or re-authenticate your credentials (especially if it's using OAuth or organizational accounts).
  • Make sure the gateway is online and correctly mapped.
  • Check whether there are any changes in the source either to the source tables , columns or source files.
  • If your source is web or API-based, ensure the URL hasn't changed or expired.
  • Download the file and refresh the visuals in the power bi desktop to check the actual error.
