Prevent Users from Creating Personal Gateways ...

Can we prevent users from creating a personal gateway if not ... can we see them ?   It is our business policy to not allow them ..

Hi there

Yes you can restrict this by going into the Power Platform Admin Center

https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/ext/DataGateways

Then clicking on Data Gateways

Then at the top click on Manage gateway installers

Then on the right hand side you can toggle on the "Restrict users in your organization from installing gateways" add the users who you want to install and you are done

The new proper solution is to use the DataGateway PowerShell module and restrict Personal Gateway installation using the cmdlets:

Disable Personal Gateways for all users and only allow specific users
Set-DataGatewayTenantPolicy (DataGateway) | Microsoft Docs

Set-DataGatewayTenantPolicy -PersonalGatewayInstallPolicy Restricted

Enable specific users as installers for personal gateways (install Azure AD cmdlets)

Set-DataGatewayInstaller (DataGateway) | Microsoft Docs

$user1 = $(Get-AzADUser -ObjectId "user1@domain.com ").Id

$user2 = $(Get-AzADUser -ObjectId "user2@domain.com ").Id

Set-DataGatewayInstaller -PrincipalObjectIds $user1,$user2 -Operation Add -GatewayType Personal

Hi Gilbert,
It seems that your solution is no longer correct. I was also under the assumption that this feature blocks the installation of personal gateways, but apparently it only affects Enterprise gateways.
