PowerBI service client received error HTTP response. HttpStatus: 400. PowerBIErrorCode: DatasourceAn

Hi there,

I was working with Power BI frequently in the last few weeks and suddenly I get this error message:

PowerBI service client received error HTTP response. HttpStatus: 400. PowerBIErrorCode: DatasourceAnalysisFailedWithUnknownFunctions

Does anybody know anything about this error? I'm quite frustrated as it is part of my bachelor thesis.

Thank you all in Advance!

BR!

Hi @TOOS ,

Based on the error message you have provided, this error typically indicates that Power BI is unable to process the query because an unknown function was used during the data source analysis phase. The following can help you troubleshoot and possibly resolve this issue:

  1. Ensure that all functions used in the query are supported by Power BI. If you are connecting to SQL or another specific data source, verify that all functions are compatible with that source.
  2. If you are using Power BI Desktop or a local data gateway, make sure they are up to date.

Can you provide more information in addition to the issues raised by @lbendlin :
For example can you share a snippet of the query or function that may be causing the issue (make sure you don't share sensitive data)?

Best Regards,

Ada Wang
