My users are experiencing an export user in my premium app, which doesn't seem to be reproducible in Desktop. They are exporting the underlying data and observing that the export is missing "measure" columns from any tables joining off of the main table used for the visualization. This appears to conflict with the Microsoft documentation I've been able to find describing this functionality. The highlighted conditions apply to my visualization, which (if I'm reading this right) should mean my missing columns should in fact be there.
As I mentioned, this behavior is not present in Desktop, as all columns in the exported visual display when exported in Desktop. For now, I have alerted the PowerBI team internally at my company and given my users access to the full PBIX to open in Desktop for their export needs. The internal PowerBI team has directed me to pose this question here, as it seems like a potential bug in Service.
Hi @Anonymous Did you ever find a solution or workaround for this? We used to get many more columns than we do now. We ran into it just this week. Last week was fine. Perhaps a powerbi.com upgrade that rolled out at different times across the world???
Hey, @Shelley ! Nope, no traction here at all. Luckily, the stakeholder that raised this issue with me followed up a couple days later mentioning that the issue was magically resolved for her. Because I haven't had anyone actively complaining since then, I haven't been driving resolution here very hard.
Weird that you're getting the same issue, though.. Let me know here if you find any info on it!
@Anonymous I'm glad it resolved itself for you. It's messed up for our Customer Success Regional Managers, so not a good showing for Power BI. I'll try to remember to let you know what we find out. We're perplexed.
