PowerBI Report Server (Jan 2025) - Something went wrong

Hello,

Throughout the day users can't access the dashboard on our on premises server running PowerBI REport Server

Version1.22.9153.7886 (January 2025). Users keep getting the following error ... it usually goes away after 5-10 min but it is very disrupting. Does any one have an idea on how I can have this fixed?  Thank you very much

The error is likely due to temporary resource exhaustion (CPU/RAM) on the server.

  • Check Event Viewer and PBIRS logs at C:\Program Files\...\PBIRS\LogFiles
  • Monitor server resources using Performance Monitor
  • Use this guide to set up monitoring: Insight Quest PBIRS Monitoring
  • Restart the PBIRS service if usage spikes often.
  • Ensure the server has enough memory and CPU allocated.

Thanks,
Bhavin

Hi @rafaelslemos

Could it potentially be that your report server is running out of resources and that is why this area usually goes away after 5 to 10 minutes? You could have a look at the power BI reports of the event logs to see if there's any indication there.  Power BI Report Server Monitoring – Insight Quest
